Make It: Rhuby Minted Crush
Yum. Yum for a couple of reasons. First off, the weekend is officially here {though for us it means lots of work, albeit splendid, and some poolside action for good measure}. Secondly, we’re sharing the last of our oh-so delicious recipes we developed for RUE Magazine and we think you’ll just love it. It’s perfectly summer and quite refreshing. It would be a wonderful cocktail to whip up for a neighborhood BBQ or for a breezy summery wedding.
What is on your agenda for the weekend? Whatever you do, we hope it’s just fantastic!

Cheers to the weekend!
Perfect Summer Cocktail Recipes
We’re just as pleased as pie that summer is here. Well, perhaps not technically, but in our books it has arrived. Our grill is polished and ready for showtime, our summer vacation schedule is planned and our summer client work and events are underway. What’s better? The weather. It’s been spectacular along the coast and, while we had a recent day or two of drizzle, it’s been sunny and clear. Perfect!
What are you most looking forward to this summer? If you’re like us and love to entertain, we’ve got a deliciously refreshing post today showcasing our favorite cocktail recipes and elements to make scrumptious summer delights.
1. Our Blueberry Lemonade Fizz is one of those cocktails we hope will go down on the books as one of your go-to recipes for summer. It’s so easy to make, yet looks so darned fun!
2. Berry-filled ice cubes add pizzazz to any cocktail or a glass of lemonade or sparkling water. They’re simple to make, too!
3. A good tray for outdoors is a must for summer cocktail parties. We like this Gelato Tray – Mango from Z. Gallerie $24.95
4. Good cloth napkins are always a must to have on hand for entertaining. Scoop up a six-pack at your local home goods store and you’ll be primed and ready for serving!
5. Strawberry nectar is a fantastic base for summer cocktails {both alcoholic and not}
6. west elm hammered glassware is marvelous for poolside cocktails. They’re durable and quite sweet to look at.
Now…onto the Twitter chat fun! We hope you join in this evening. We’re joining forces again to talk about all things summer. Plus there will be a fantastic giveaway to boot!
Be sure to hop along to these splendid blogs from our co-hostesses to see what they’re sharing up for summer! Hope to see you in tonight’s chat!

Roasted Baby Potatoes with Honey-Brushed Prosciutto
Friday! Oh, how we’ve been looking forward to this weekend. We’re enjoying the last little bit of that short window of time we had in between events and crazy work {you know we love it} as we kick back and relax for Aleah’s birthday. We’ve been cramming in lots of proposals, contracts and ideas have been swirling about during this short week {oh, we launched our new Valley & Co. Creative Business Consulting branch!}, so a weekend of doing nothing but fun sounds like best medicine!
What are you up to? As we officially launch ourselves into June and the heat of the summer, we’re also daydreaming about entertaining al fresco with family and friends just enjoying the company, laughter and food. Summer has to be our favorite time of year {though the holidays are a close contender} as life becomes so breezy. So effortless. Everything just seems to fall into place, doesn’t it? Well we’re savoring every bit of summer and sharing lots of deliciously fresh and summery recipes like this one {remember our recipe spread in the recent issue of RUE Magazine with Noa Azoulay-Sclater / Feather love Photography}? We hope you find time to whip up delicious delights and really enjoy the moment and the meaning of summer…
Delicious fresh ingredients at their best.

Pairings: Champagne and Cheese
As we edge closer to Aleah’s birthday weekend we’re already dreaming up kicking back and relaxing in the sunshine with a glass of bubbly. The perfect warm weather accompaniment! There’s something just so wonderfully celebratory and refreshing about a good glass of champagne, cava, sparkling wine, or prosecco. While we’re ones for going all out with cheese pairings, charcuterie and displays with figs, Marcona almonds and all the trimmings, today we’re sharing a pairing that, while lovely, is simple and speaks to the flavors alone.
Le Grande Courtage is a delectably fresh brut that’s a new favorite. They kindly sent some our way and we can’t get enough.
We paired it with an all-time favorite duo of cheeses, Seastack from Mt. Townsend Creamery with big, plump strawberries, and Red Alder from Mt. Townsend creamery, paired with dry salami and pistachios. The Seastack is a divine creamy cheese with a lightly dusted crust coated with vegetable ash. The Red Alder is earthy and deep and complex. They’re both winning cheeses in our book {and we’re quite picky with our cheese}! What’s better? You can buy all of this goodness online and have it shipped fresh from Washington.
When staging your summer cheese board really focus on the flavors of the cheese and offer at least one soft and one hard cheese paired with champagne, sparkling water and nibbles like berries. It’s all you need!
So, friends. What’s on your agenda for the upcoming weekend?
