They’re so sweet you can even use them as centerpiece accents on a dinner party table! Do you have a May Day tradition?
May Day is a favorite holiday to spread a little cheer to some of our neighbors and family.
With a tin can, some pretty paper, ribbon, and sweet spring flowers, you can make someone’s day with these simple May Day Door Arrangements.
1/4″ drill bit
Dowel or 2″ x 2″ piece of wood (just to hold the can in place while drilling)
Satin ribbon 10″ strips
Decorative paper (sheet)
Floral frog (or chicken wire)
Carefully slit the paper label from the tin can and remove it (save it for later)
Empty out the can and wash and dry it
Lay out the decorative paper and place the label on top, cutting out the paper to fit the shape of the label
Using your glue stick, create a thin layer of glue all around the can
Place your new band of paper around the can and smooth it out, pressing the paper into the glue
Take your can and place it around the dowel or 2″ x 2″ – this is to keep it in place and make drilling easier
Drill two holes 1/2″ away from the top of the can on opposite sides (hold on firmly to the can when drilling)
Slip one end of the ribbon through the hole into the can and tie in a knot
Do the same for the other side so you have a loop and hanger
Place a floral frog or chicken wire in the bottom of your can and fill with water
Start with foliage and create an arrangement with your favorite blooms!
