Each turn of the season we look forward to styling areas of our home in new ways with poppy colors, new decor elements like throws, pillows or a welcome bar. We recently teamed up with Sauder to make three of their timeless pieces our own – we used the charcoal Ellis Chair, the Nilsen Accent Chair, and the Cannery Bridge Work Table to create an entry lounge and welcome bar for the holidays.
We loved the refined, yet casual, style of these three pieces together – they’re so versatile.
We have three key rules that we follow when redefining a space for the holidays:
1. create a vignette by anchoring a statement piece or two and accent with cozy textures like wool blankets.
2. allow the furniture to serve multiple purposes. We used the worktable as a welcome cocktail bar for a recent gathering, and also as a holiday sideboard for a dinner party.
3. choose pieces that reflect a season through color. Swap out bright summer blankets with icy blue or taupe pillows and throws.
Be sure to check out the Sauder Lookbook to see how your favorite pieces are used in traditional and fresh ways!
