It’s nearly here!
One of our favorite things to do during the holidays is to host our friends and family. It means the world to have guests over, whether for a football game, elegant champagne party, or cookie decorating brunch. We’ve certainly had our share of holiday party mishaps – one year we had to forego a cookie decorating party because our cookies were so rock-hard they could have broken a tooth. They were horrible!
Another year in college we were hosting our friends for a decadent pre-Christmas break dinner party, but we foiled our plan and were forced to make a last-minute stop to the grocery store to pick up a pre-boxed meal. Hey, it was still good!
So even professional event planners have mishaps! Needless to say, for us it’s always about keeping things simple so that if something unexpected arises we can try to recover quickly!
With our bubble party the sparkling wine was a huge hit with our guests. Of all of the 6 varieties we sipped on, the Blanc de Noirs was especially delicious and fitting for the snacks we had out. It was the perfect combination of sweet and sharp. Just how we like our bubbles!
Here are our top tips for hosting a beautiful and easy New Year’s Eve fete this year:
-Use old muffin tins for an instant cheese and snack board
-Lay out white butcher paper and write messages to your guests and encourage them to do the same
-Set place settings with ease – you needn’t go overboard, but by using your best china and flatware and linen napkins cinched with gorgeous ribbons, you’ll be a step ahead
