Oh, it’s basically here! As send the afternoon knee-deep in our pumpkins to carve, sugar cookie dough for our bat and black cat cookies, and the evening watching Hocus Pocus, we know that this marks the start of the holiday season! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, and what better way to celebrate than well, by celebrating? We will be sharing dozens of Party Trick posts in the coming weeks, which will be spins on ideas for entertaining that we derive from the beautiful events we plan for our clients.
First up in this holiday series, ribbon-cinched place settings. Our talented friend Laura Hooper from Laura Hooper Calligraphy penned her scroll on these beautiful gray stained gift tags that we turned into place setting markers. You can purchase them from her site or Etsy shop or you can recreate them on your own.
To make: recreate this look with store-bought wooden tags by diluting gray paint with white until you get the desired effect. Once dry, take a pencil and lightly outline the guest’s name. Go over the pencil with a white paint pen with a fat tip, focusing on the embellishments.
Cut white satin ribbon to 8″ long and string through the gift tag, then securing around a full flatware setting.
