Katie’s Cocktails: Hot Spiced Cider
After all of the decorating, gift wrapping, and baking I’m finally allowing myself to to sit back, crank up the Christmas music and truly celebrate the magic of the season. Today I’m sharing a traditional holiday cocktail that is sure to warm you up while you spend the evening next to a toasty fire celebrating the last few days of the holiday season with your loved ones. The perfect accompaniment to nibble on with this cider would be a large bowl of sugar and spice pecans or any other sweet treat that is a family tradition this time of year. Cheers!
HOT SPICED CIDER:

3 quarts apple cider | 4 whole cloves | 3 cinnamon sticks | Small pinch of ground nutmeg
Optional: Add a splash of rum or brandy or a twist of orange peel onto the mug
1. In a large saucepan, bring all ingredients to a boil.
2. Strain and serve hot cider into mugs.
3. Serve with a cinnamon stick in each mug.
*Makes 12 cups
