An Afternoon in the Kitchen with Mrs. Smith’s Deep Dish Pies {and a Williams-Sonoma giveaway!}

‘Tis the season for spending chilly winter afternoons in the kitchen and baking up a storm. We get a kick out of enjoying the season with festive holiday tunes playing and family surrounding the stove top and oven. There’s really nothing better than the smell of freshly baked pies filling the air with a warm and sweet scent. It brings back memories of laughter and holiday happiness, not to mention deliciousness!

**winner update! Lucky #3, Elena, you are our winner! Please email us: hello@valleyandco.com to claim your prize! **

Mrs. Smith’s Signature Deep Dish pies recently unveiled four new deliciously scrumptious pies perfect for the holidays and invited us to give them a try {yum!}.

We picked up two at the market and had great fun customizing our pies and adding little bits of our favorite yummy accoutrements. The Dutch Apple Pie is tasty on its own, but with a light caramel drizzle and a dusting of toasted walnuts we personalized the tastiness with a flavor that reminds us of the holidays. We drizzled a butter fudge sauce atop each slice of Cherry Pie and oh my, was it good! Not only were these pies eated up by our family members, but they’d make for wonderful holiday gifts for neighbors or teachers. Package them up with a sweet ribbon and pie slicer and you’ve got a thoughtful gift!

We encourage you to check out Mrs. Smith’s amazing pies AND, enter our $50 Williams-Sonoma gift card giveaway and a gift certificate for your own deep dish pie, courtesy of Mrs. Smith’s Signature Deep Dish Pies! To enter, follow on Facebook and leave us a comment with which of the four pies you’d love to try and why. Also tell us what you’d choose from Williams-Sonoma to dress up your pies for a complete entry. You can also follow us on Facebook or Twitter for an extra entry! I’d like to try Signature Deep Dish Pumpkin Pie with Cream Cheese Icing because I love pumpkin pies. Le Creuset Heritage Stoneware Square Dish would be great to get.

  2. I would definitely use the gift cerificate for something we’ve been wanting for a very long time – a Vitamix blender! With this we would make whipped cream and chopped nuts just to add that perfect finishing touch!
