Make It: Festive Glittering Clothespins

‘Tis the season for dreaming up glittering goodness, bits and pieces of festive finishing touches and elements of whimsy that make the heart skip a beat. As we look ahead to the holidays {you know us, we’re always ahead by a few months for our client events and editorial work}, we’re forecasting a season of warmth and love with all the trimmings, but in an effortless fashion. To us a crisp season anew brings out the best of what life has to offer: family time, celebrations, pumpkin carving {!}, getting creative, and enjoying cozy moments. What do you most enjoy about fall?

Our Festive Glittering Clothespins are a happy medium between a creative finishing touch and a simple few-step DIY that will surely impress the recipient.  Adorn Halloween treat bags for trick-or-treaters or party guests with these sparklers or use them to clip haunting silhouettes above a mantel for a scary bash.

You’ll need: Modge Podge | clear coat sealant | heavy gauge glitter | clothespins | a medium-sized craft paint brush

Step 1: paint a thick layer of Modge Podge onto the face of a clothespin and let cure for a minute – you want it to be tacky, but not dry.

Step 2: place the Modge Podge right into a dish of glitter and press down firmly. Hold for about 20 seconds – you’re really getting the glitter to stick well.

Step 3: Once the glitter and Modge Podge has dried take outside and spray with a layer of clear coat sealant. This will set the glitter so it won’t become messy!
