Monday Simplicity: Tin Can Vases

Happiest Monday to you! As we type today’s blog post we are sitting poolside in Palm Springs {where the temps are reaching just past 100!}, so it’s just a little difficult to envision fall. But we’re prepping for that amazing dinner in a field party in Washington State this coming weekend, so our minds are reeling with fall goodness as we prepare for this unique event.

We shared this vignette in our entertaining column over on Nook and Sea and wanted to share with you lovelies today. Sometimes entertaining on a whim, while fun and spur-of-the-moment, can be daunting as you want to treat your guests to something out of the ordinary. While we have a stock of our party and entertaining musts {like festive vases, fanciful dishware, bistro ware and the like}, something inexpensive and simple like tin can vases can do the trick for holding blooms or ferns plucked fresh from the yard. This tip is perfect for fall as tin cans are the perfect vessel for so much: think golden leaves, branches and ferns!

Last fall we whipped up a festive version of tin can vases with metallic paint {by the way, wait until you see the party table markers this weekend – they are amazing!}. Quite the transformation, right? We shared the how-to here: using the proper paint is key!

So….would you adorn your table top with tin cans filled with greenery or fresh fall blooms? Do share if you do!
