Make It: Indoor Terrariums 3 Ways

‘Tis the season! Fall is upon us and our minds are reeling with ideas for celebrating a season anew by bringing in unexpected elements and touches into a space. We’re big fans of gardening but during this time of year low-maintenance indoor gardens are a splendid way to enjoy the outdoors with minimal work. Enter our indoor terrariums. These little gems can be as festive or as seasonal as you want….enjoy!

We’re in the spirit of cozying up, enjoying the cooler weather by wrapping up and enjoying a good book, and taking in the feelings of fall, though the weather sure has  been stellar! What better way to bring the outdoors in this fall than with a rustic moss and pine cone terrarium?

You’ll need: small pinecones | a glass orb {most craft stores and garden stores carry these} | moss | a heavy-duty string

Lay a bed of moss on the bottom of the orb and nestle several small pinecones within the moss. You could also dot in some small woodland creature figurines for a woodsy touch.

We’re always looking for ways to preserve keepsakes from our travels and this is an excellent way to capture the coast and to look back on beachy memories easily. All you need: sand | coral or shells | a glass orb | heavy-duty string

Yes, we know. You’ve likely seen a succulent in a terrarium, but we just can’t get enough. Succulents grow virtually anywhere and these little mini gardens can withstand drought and make for a most perfect hostess gift as we prep for the holidays.

For ours we used river rock. You’ll need: a little succulent | river rock {or a bright rock for a fish tank if you’re feeling funky} | a glass orb | a heavy-duty string

To keep your succulent happy nestle within the bed of rocks and spritz once every two or so weeks with water. That’s it!
