Make It: Herbed Dill Butter

As much as we just love dog-earing summery recipes from our favorite magazines, testing out fresh local bites and whipping our summer menu into a frenzy of freshness and tastes anew, our schedules don’t always allow for us to map out creative dishes on the daily. We look to simple methods to jazz up ears of corn {while we love it, ear after grilled ear can be monotonous} to give our lunch and dinner menus a dose of a different flavor. Herbed butter is one of the simplest ways to breathe new life into French bread, veggies or even your favorite protein. Currently we’re loving dill in our shrimp salads, corn salads and as a condiment.

You’ll need: 1 stick of unsalted butter | 3 tablespoons of dill {or sage, thyme or your favorite herb}

Finely chop 3 tablespoons of dill

Mix the dill with the softened butter, stirring until combined. Place the butter in the refrigerator in the container you’ll be serving it in. You may also place the butter in plastic wrap and roll into a log and chill. You can slice the butter once it’s chilled.

It’s the perfect {simple} touch to a summer dinner and a great way to give an ordinary summertime menu a bite of freshness.

Serve up dill butter with crusty French bread in true family-style or brush on fresh corn going on the grill or salmon filets before you put them on the coals.
