Finishing Touches: Wine Corks as Escort Holders

Life is all about the sweet finishing touches, right? We’re suckers for little elements that impress our guests, both at our own parties or at our client events. Being welcomed to a charming setting with elements that are unexpected will have your guests talking about your celebration for ages. We’re smitten with this escort display for our couple’s winery wedding in Woodinville, Washington. It was a darling way to tie in the setting without being too kitschy.

Here’s how you make these:take a wine cork and cut a slit length-wise down the entire cork with an exacto knife {carefully!}. Notch the slit so that a card will fit snugly inside. Create escort cards {they indicate what table your guests sit at} or place cards {they indicate the place at the table and often entrée designations} and nestle them into the corks. Rest atop a mossy bed with blooms and herbs and you’ve got a gorgeous winery-inspired setting.

How do you like to welcome guests to your celebration?

    wouldn’t they just fall over?

They would, which is why we recommend nestling them in a bed of moss. :)
You could also simply cut the bottom of the cork so it sits flat if you don’t like moss.
      Cheers!

I am having my reception at a winery so this is very fitting!! I think I will cut the side so it can rest flat, but I do love the way it is originally presented in a bed of moss
