New Year’s Eve Cocktail

Did you have a most wonderful Christmas celebration? Ours was filled with Christmas magic and family. That’s what life is all about. Our heads are still dreaming of sugar plums and our stomachs are full of fantastic oh-so delicious food {corn flan, roast “beast,” leek soup, gourmet cheeses, cocktails, and lovely brunches….}, and our faces still hurt from smiling. As we still recuperate from the Christmas festivities we’re also looking ahead to the next holiday….2012 is now peeking its glitzy year anew head around the corner. In the December issue of San Diego Magazine we designed a celebration that brings out the best in this holiday: fun. Today we’re sharing some of this with you with a quite impressive cocktail:a Royale Resolution.

Pair the cocktail with a handsome gentleman {named Nick} dressed to the nines and Aleah says it’s the perfect recipe for a fun evening!

We’ll be sharing more of our table top ideas later this week, but while it’s early in the week start collecting your glitziest pieces. Think clocks, chargers, and pretty goblets. If you missed it, we posted a wonderfully fun DIY to make our metallic striped chargers.

Royale Resolution from the Dana Hotel:

Muddle mint, lime, and blueberries in a cocktail shaker. Pour in 1 oz. Blueberry Stolichnaya Vodka and ½ oz. Chambord. Add ice. Shake with ice and strain into glass. Top with a blackberry leaf and a festive garnish: Aleah made the drink stirrers by simply hot gluing a pom pom {find in bulk at the craft store} to wooden skewers.
