DIY: Jingle Bell Garland

Well how did Thursday arrive so quickly? Christmas is literally just peeking its glittering ornament holly-leaf studded pomander-scented delicious cocktail and food-laden festive head around the corner watching us all with anticipation, isn’t it? We’ve spent the week prepping for the occasion, entertaining family, and juggling projects, writing, and client work for our marvelous clients. The joy and fun of the holidays never ceases to amaze us, regardless of how busy we are. Magic and cheer are ever-so present and we’re soaking it all up before the season over in a wink and turn of its head!
Project 4 of our Holiday DIY Week is here and it’s one that’s entirely simple and fun and will dress up that blank wall or mantle that needs a splash of holiday. We also like using it as gift wrap: Jingle Bell Garland goodness.
You’ll need: about 6′ of baker’s twine per garland | varying sizes of jingle bells | scissors
About 6″ from the end of the twine slide a bell down and tie a double knot around the metal loop so that it stays in place.
Proceed with large and small bells every 6″ securing with double knots.

There you have it! We’re rather attached to this project as it adds the perfect touch of holly and jolly. Use it as a garland above a doorway, a cocktail display, or outdoors to welcome guests.
Or you can use this jingle bell garland as gift wrap accents. Think about adorning cozy blankets or shawls with a striped treat and your recipient will love the finishing touch!

Are your gifts and home all decked out and dressed for the holidays? What will top your presents this year? We’d also love to hear if you’ve recreated our projects this week. We know many took our Leafy Italian Ruscus challenge – we’d love to hear about your holiday projects and traditions!

  1. I was looking at the photos and wondering what the end result would be- using it as a ‘ribbon’ for a gift is perfect simplicity.

so pretty! the photos and the garland!

  6. At first I thought the idea (from just looking at the top photo) was to put jingle bells in a bowl or jar and thought, “How clever, I love it!” Then I realized you were putting something together with them and I love it even more! :)

Such a great idea!!! I have tiny bells and lots of twine ;) I might even just add some simple twine bows with bells to the gift tags. Plan to wrap this weekend so the timing is perfect ;)
