Recipe: Caprese Bites
Good morning, blog pals!
We’re always striving to brainstorm entertaining ideas that are effortless and easy for our readers to incorporate at home, but that also pack a punch and will impress guests. We know that time can be such a luxury and spending hours on your feet in the kitchen cooking and baking or days bent over a craft table making napkins and flower arrangements isn’t for everyone {especially during the holidays}.
Enter Nick’s caprese bites: little tastes of heirloom tomato, mozzarella pearl, and basil goodness. A spin on the classic Italian recipe, we served up ours in little pastry cups from Ikea!
Caprese Bites {recipes yields 2 dozen}
• 1/2 pound of small heirloom tomatoes
• baby mozzarella
• ¼ cup of chopped basil
• 2 dozen pre-made hors d’ oeuvres cups
• olive oil
• balsamic vinegar
• baby mozzarella
• ¼ cup of chopped basil
• 2 dozen pre-made hors d’ oeuvres cups
• olive oil
• balsamic vinegar
Dice heirloom tomatoes and mozzarella into small pieces. Mix in a bowl with a drizzle of olive oil and ½ teaspoon of sea salt and a crack of black pepper. Place in the cups and top with chopped basil and a splash of balsamic vinegar.
Not only is this recipe simple, but it’s quite refreshing and really can be enjoyed in one bite. Enjoy!

These look incredibly delish. I can taste that fresh basil just by looking at the photo!
I honestly can't wait to try this…looks so yummy!
I'm SO doing this!! YUM
I live in Newport Beach, ca do you know I can find hors d’ oeuvres cups? Or even in SD as I have friends in that area.
Thanks
Thanks for stopping by! Those cups are from Ikea but if they don’t have them try a specialty food shop or restaurant supply store. Can’t wait to hear if you test out the recipe!
